Trust & Security

Everything your finance and compliance teams will ask about.

Where the money sits, who holds it, how counterparties are checked, what happens when a deal goes wrong, and who is legally behind Marvinet. All on one page.

Escrow and verification protect every deal

Escrow

Marvinet never holds your money.

Funds move into segregated client accounts operated by our regulated escrow partner. Marvinet instructs releases according to the signed contract; it cannot withdraw, lend, or net client funds.

Regulated partner

Escrow and payment services are provided through UIBT / Marvipay, an FCA-authorised payment institution. Client money is safeguarded separately from operating funds.

Release only on evidence

Every release is tied to a contractual trigger: signed contract, uploaded shipping documents, confirmed delivery, or positive inspection report.

Both sides see the same ledger

Buyer, seller, and trader each see the escrow events relevant to their contract in real time: deposit received, balance received, released.

Currencies

EUR, USD, and GBP at launch. Conversion, where needed, is quoted before the deposit is made, never applied silently.

KYB verification

Nobody trades on Marvinet anonymously.

Every company is verified once, before it can open or join a deal. Verification is renewed annually and re-checked when ownership changes.

  1. 01

    Company identity

Registration number, registered address, and incorporation documents checked against the official registry of the country of incorporation.

  2. 02

    Beneficial owners

Directors and anyone owning 25% or more are identified and screened against sanctions, PEP, and adverse-media lists.

  3. 03

    Bank account

Payout account must be held in the company's name at a regulated bank. A micro-deposit confirms control of the account.

  4. 04

    Ongoing monitoring

Sanctions screening re-runs daily. Any hit pauses new deals on the account until a compliance officer reviews it.

Disputes

When something goes wrong, the money waits.

A dispute freezes the relevant escrow balance. Nothing is released to either side until it is resolved, by agreement or by decision.

Day 0

Raise it in the deal space

Either party opens a dispute on a specific milestone. The matching escrow balance freezes and the counterparty is notified with the evidence attached.

Days 1–10

Resolve it between you

Both sides propose outcomes inside the platform: full release, partial refund, replacement shipment. If both accept, escrow executes it the same day.

Day 11+

Marvinet decides

If no agreement is reached, a Marvinet case officer rules on the documentary evidence within 15 business days. The decision is binding under the platform terms; either party keeps the right to go to court.

Your data

Deal data is stored in the EU, encrypted at rest and in transit. Buyer and seller never see each other’s contract, pricing, or identity on facilitated deals, and Marvinet staff access is logged.

Contracts

Contracts are generated from the agreed terms, timestamped, and hashed at signature. Each party downloads a signed PDF; the hash lets any party prove the document was not altered.

Legal entities

Marvinet Ltd (Ireland) operates the platform. Marvinet S.r.l. (Italy) handles European client relationships. Both are subsidiaries of Ermes Holdco. Registered addresses and company numbers appear in the Terms.
